Under the Same Sun

This artwork is a collaborative remix by artists Stereoflow (ID) and ZERO (SG) who are separated by geography but portrayed dreaming under the same yellow sun. One half is painted in Singapore at Bali Lane and the other half resides in M-Blok in Jakarta, Indonesia. Through a deconstructed self-portrait, the artists explore present scenarios of mind travel and the power of imagination.

ZERO

@zero_rscls
ZERO (Mohammed Zulkarnaen Othman) paints from the perspective of a pseudo-documentarist of contemporary urban life, often taking a reactionary approach and offering social commentary through his work. Zero was part of ARTVSTS, a collective credited with pioneering street art in Singapore. He then established RSCLS in 2006, a collective that seeks to create a vibrant and sustainable practice in the urban arts. In 2013, he co-founded The Solidarity Movement, an initiative that seeks to establish and document graffiti and street art as a culture and art discipline in the Southeast Asian region. His works have been shown across the world and art from his solo exhibition The Spectacular Spectacular has also been acquired by the Singapore Arts Museum as part of its permanent collection.
