The Journey

KILAS’ ornamental line work combined with artist Boon Baked’s illustrations together create a magical portal. This mural is inspired by an imaginative history of Kampong Gelam. While it tells a story of the precinct’s fictional past, Studio Moonchild’s piece continues The Journey to tell a story of a colorful present.

Zahir Sanosi adopted the moniker KILAS in early 2003, and extended his reach across multiple platforms. KILAS presents work that is controversial and contradictory from illustrations and designs, to skateboards and painted walls. Expect to delve into his mindscape detailing the struggle between personal beliefs and public issues, as well as the passion and heartbeat of underground counter-culture. He has worked with brands like Tiger Beer, Earache Records (UK), and Santa Cruz Skateboards (USA), to name a few.
