Constant Elevation

This mural reflects co-creation at its finest: combining Jaba’s signature flying cities, with Hegira’s Arabic calligraffiti and ANTZ’ love for painting animals. Constant Elevation is a fictional, futuristic piece depicting a Kampong Gelam of the future. It features iconic red-roof shophouses and friendly street cats overlooking the scene, reminding us of the precinct’s essence and charm.

Didier ‘Jaba’ Mathieu

@didierjabamathieu
The former concept artist and digi-matte painter has credits in feature films such as Transformers and Iron Man, but nothing excites Didier ‘Jaba’ Mathieu more than getting dirty with a mural. With over 25 years of experience and a Master of Fine Arts (2018) from LASALLE College of the Arts Singapore, Jaba references astro-futurism, abstract mathematics, alphabetical constructivism and facial cubism. Not one to rest on his laurels, he continues to participate in numerous graffiti performances and festivals in Asia, Europe, South America and Africa.

Hegira

@hegira_
Pioneering street artist and the founder of renowned graffiti crew Operation Art Core, Mazlan Ahmad (known as Hegira and Phyreman) deals with scents of deconstructed abstracts and strokes. In 2003, he was the first Singaporean graffiti representative to the international scene in the United States, and he is since affiliated with internationally acclaimed New York-based graffiti crew Kings Destroy (led by legendary artist COPE2), and has exhibited overseas at venues such as the prestigious Joan Miro Museum in Barcelona. Over the years, Hegira’s style has evolved into a deconstruction of his past graffiti flows, occasionally leaving undertones of an Islamic futuristic abstract formation.
